Winter/Spring Recap

Greetings from your favorite Bigg Redd Bass Player !!! Life is good here. I’m recently back in Las Vegas after spending 5 months on the road with the Broadway show, Jersey Boys (Tour 2). It was a blast until I got Covid. It was all downhill after that. I finally waived the white flag on 4/20 & came home to Vegas. Happy to say that I’m well rested and feeling a million times better. I’m already back in the mix with the Chris Tofield band and was thrilled to play the soft opening of the Sand Dollar Downtown. I’ve been having a blast subbing for the Moanin Blacksnakes and am looking forward to some upcoming dates with the Jimmy Carpenter Band. More to tell soon!! As always, I wish you Peace, Love & Booty Shakin’ Grooves!!!

Spring Forward

Greetings from your friendly neighborhood Bigg Redd Bass Player !!! As March of 2021 comes to a close, the Pandemic continues but hope is on the rise with the release of the COVID-19 vaccine. Here in Las Vegas, live shows are opening slowly. I have been really blessed to have had gigs start to trickle in slowly. I am hopeful for the months to come, as the world finds its new normal. My writing has been stalled amongst the change in routine to do live gigs., but I am pushing forward to get my my music out. There are a few slots open in my online teaching schedule for those who are interested. … Stay Tuned, and as always Peace, Love & Booty Shakin Grooves to all ….

Pandemic Blues ….

Greetings from your favorite Bigg Redd Bass Player !!!

What to say? It’s been 7 months almost to the day that COVID-19 devastated the Entertainment Industry & the World, in general.

Las Vegas is still closed, with the exception of “ambient” music with only singles, duo & trios.

I’m hanging in there … Doing what I can with what I’ve got … Staying healthy and getting some exercise.

I’ve been spending most of my time in my home studio writing & producing music as well as teaching online lessons. So … if you need bass on a project. tracks for you project, or want to take your bass playing up a notch, please feel free to hit me up: biggreddbass@gmail.com

I hope this update finds you & you’re well

I wish you Peace, Love & Booty Shakin grooves until we meet again …

Winter Update

Greetings from your favorite Bigg Redd Bass Player !!!

Life is good, ya’ll … Been a minute since I’ve made time to update.

The December trip to the U.K. with Matt Goss was amazing. It was great to see so much of England and make it to Glasgow, Scotland. The shows were all great and I want to send a huge thanks to Hilton Hotels for making us all feel extremely welcome and comfortable at all of the properties that we stayed & performed.

January started off quietly & continued that way for most of the month. We returned to the Mirage with Matt Goss only to be soon notified that the venue, 1OAK, is closing in March with Matt’s dates being honored through the end of April.

The month finished strong as I got to sit in & visit with my buddy Albert Castiglia (Gulf Coast Recording Artist) on his gig at the Railhead/Boulder Station here in Vegas.

These days, I’m busy writing and recording my stuff and music for other folks. Be sure to hit me up if you’re in need of bass tracks or production: biggreddbass@gmail.com

As always, I wish you Peace, Love & Booty Shakin’ Grooves !!!

Soul Doctor

Greetings from your favorite Bigg Redd bass player !!!

As fall is upon us here in Las Vegas, I’m taking a long overdue break to check in. 🙂 All is well in Bigg Redd land. It’s been a great few months of mostly working with Matt Goss over at the Mirage and a few scattered blues gigs. I’m happy to announce the release of “Soul Doctor” by my good friend, Jimmy Carpenter. It was a pleasure working on the record with Jimmy and the guys. It’s definitely some of my best recorded work. You can find it at http://www.jimmycarpenter.net We had a great gig last night at the Sand Dollar Lounge with special guest & my rhythm section mate from the Matt Goss band, Greg “Suave” Brown on drums.

Looking forward to some Christmas shows in the U.K. with Matt Goss as well as some exciting news about BROS for 2020. Stay Tuned !!!

A Night with BROS

A Night with BROS

My recent trip to London was punctuated with an amazing series of live performances that were shown on July 19 as part of the special BBC Takeover, A Nigh with BROS. We got to jam with KT Tunstall, play a few BROS hits and did a Stevie Wonder classic, Superstition. I’m grateful to #lukegoss & #mattgoss for having me along for the ride.

Life is Good :-)

4/5 LV BLUES SOCIETY JAM

Greetings from your favorite Bigg Redd bass player!!!

As with every first Friday of the month, the LVBS hosts a jam session at the Sand Dollar Lounge in Las Vegas. This month I got to play in the house band (Juke Joint Junkies) with some of my closest friends who happen to be some of the most bad ass musicians that I know. In the photo above (L-R) is Cameron Tyler on drums, Joel Ferguson on Pedal Steel, Trevor Johnson on guitar, Jimmy Carpenter on sax & Joey Melotti on keys … A good time was had by all & you can be assured that the Booty Shakin’ Grooves were flowing. 😉
